Some detail shots from yesterday, using 2000 frames rather than my more usual 1000.

Grey scale:

file.php?id=16655&mode=view

Part inverted:

file.php?id=16656&mode=view

Pseudo colour:

file.php?id=16657&mode=view

Part inverted + pseudo colour:

file.php?id=16658&mode=view

One really nice thing with the new laptop is that 2000 frames are captured in about 15 seconds. The SSD can (almost) keep pace with the ASI174MM frame rate. Only after 1000 frames at full throttle does the number of saved frames start to lag the number of captured frames ever so slightly. VERY handy

Superb, Michael!  I must admit, I don't often venture into the Solar section as I don't have any solar viewing/imaging equipment, but it does fascinate me... Being a home/mobile worker, a friend of mine has been trying to convince me to "go solar" for some time as in theory I do have plenty of opportunity, but I fear it would be WAY too distracting and I'd end up getting no work done.

It still amazes me though that images such as these can be pulled out of the sky in just 15s, when I'm used to DSO images taking 12 hours+... but I suspect it took a tad longer to process .
