Hello everyone!

Hi everyone, I'm rather new to amateur astronomy. I just purchased Orion's 8" Dobsonian, and it is arriving on Friday. I've quickly gotten more interested in Astronomy since I began my Basic Astronomy class, and I've been using a small refractor for awhile now. After seeing Jupiter at opposition, it finally sent me over the edge and I joined this forum and bought the Dob. I'm pretty newbie and I've been excited to read the experiences of other members of the forum thus far and look at all the amazing images.

Expect a bunch of questions from me within the near future, as I'm sure I'll need all the help I can get. I'm also part of the International Dark Sky Association and the Long Now Foundation, which are both astronomically based.

I was born in New Hampshire, I'm currently going to college in Missouri, and my name is Kevin. :icon_salut:
