richbyers
hi and welcomethats a good scope as far as i know, depends on what you want if for really, if you are just interested in observing and not imaging then try a sky watcher heritage 130p, same size only cheaper and more simplerich

Ant
Welcome to SGL.A lot of people start out with the 130 and seem to get on really well with it.I have no real experience of the mount though. So one is bound to have.CheersAnt
Astro_Baby
Theres nothing much wrong with the 130 tube in my opinion. It comes with all kinds of mounts ranging from a basic Dob styles through to the EQ2 mount. Which one is right for you depends on what you want and how much you want to spend.Welcome to the board by the way
barkis
Welcome to SGL young fellah, and if you need any help with the scope, just ask, and someone, probably a couple of dozen, will respond .Enjoy you new instrument.Ron.

johnh
Hello Hallam and welcome, the 130 is a great scope but a 150 will give you a bit more power for fainter objects but both are excellent for newcomers. There are 2 types of mount, your image above shows an Alt Az mount and the other type is an Equatorial which has counter weights which will enable you to attempt to image with a webcam as it is motorised and will follow the sky better. For a simple setup for visuals an Alt Az mount is fine and should give you great views.JohnH.
