Wait until you see a C14. That's huge :D !!!!

Nice combo: C11 and CGEM. However do order two counterweights. Normal delivery is one.

Good luck,

Roger

You can also use weights from the EQ 6. They will fit the CGEM and are far cheaper

That's very nice. Would that size OTA be too heavy for a HEQ5 pro ?

Yes!

A c8 or meade lx200 8" is about the limit for the HEQ5.

I had to upgrade to the NEQ6pro for my 10" Lx200.

Hi Kris

Hahaha! too funny - same reaction I had when I got my dob lol.

If you want cheap weights get second hand body builders weights. You'll have to be picky about what size to fit the bar - but you might even get them free from a recycling centre. Paint them up and no one'll know the difference. Nice OTA btw.

Cheers :D

It's obviously nowhere near big enough - there's photographic evidence that you managed to get it through the door! :p

Congrats, it looks lovely. :D

Before I'de even consider paying £70 for a weight I would try cast one from lead ,pouring it into a tin (catering size coffee tin ,etc) and then drilling an appropriate size centre hole and tapping it with a securing screw. I have seen lots of succesfull weights for scopes using this method.

Exciting times. Do lots of asking as regards how to set up your guiding when you start imaging. Off axis may be the answer.

I will dig up the image of the 1.5 m IR telescope I operated at Gornergrat, just to top that one (will have to scan the slide first).
