Hi everyone,

I am a new member and this is my very first post ;) so please excuse me.

I live up in Newcastle and i have been interested in astronomy ever since my dad got me a tasco 60mm refractor back in 1985 for the return of Halleys comet(which i did not see at all) :) but that was it i was bitten. I currently own a Helios 120mm refractor on a EQ3-2 dual driven mount, a William optics ZS 66mm on a William optics pro tripod, Canon 300d camera and soon to be Meade dsi camera and a fantastic pair of 17 year old 10x50 russian binos, not to mention 24 years worth of astronomy books :).

I hope this quick intro is ok and i am looking forward to take part in lots of discussions and brain picking very soon.

Welcome to the forum mate, im a newbie here and tbh, so far i've learnt more in my short time on here than i have browsing about on other forums.

Im sure any questions you have will be replied to quickly and cant wait to see your piccies.

hi callisto, a warm welcome from another geordie (wallsend). this is a very informative and friendly site.

as you are from newcastle are you by chance a member of the newcastle astromical society? they also are a friendly crowd.
