M13 - final version

Recommended Posts

As before, I have been starting my imaging sessions with 2 or 3 subs of M13, typically 20 mins each. This gives me opportunity to make sure everything is working together nicely, before starting proper for the night.

I gathered all the subs to date, and stuck them in a single folder, and stacked the lot together in DSS. Not ideal as different flats were really required for the different sessions, and no darks or bias frames used either. To get around the uneven background caused by differing camera positions and long sub lengths, I used Pixinsight LE. (I have found a way to vastly speed up the getting of a decent background pic for subtraction, pm if interested.)

I'll try to upload the full size piccy, seem to be having a few ftp issues atm though.

GSO 8" newt + QHY8 + CLS

Thanks for looking.

Hmm, not sure Arran, I dropped quite a few frames that had a sky background figure higher than 5, and when you drop a few 20 min subs, you start to lose hours of data at a time...... the whole stack was originally around 11 hours, probably dropped 3 or more of those.

There's one thing for sure Tim; you certainly don't lack stamina.

Another example of the great image quality you are serving up to the forum. This work shows the Big Globular at it's best.
