Telescope Bigamy ?

Well @The60mmKid started the “Telescope Monogomy” thread which he has now conceded is impossible 🤪

So, more realistically 🙂 what two scopes could you settle with ?

My choice would be a 4” Refractor and a 7” Reflector.

Well I've only got 2 scopes - a Lunt LS50DS for daytime (gets great use for a brief few min peep on a sunny day), and a 15" dob - sadly underused of late, life getting in the way...

For quite a long time I got on well with an 8 inch dobsonian and a 4 inch refractor so I'm sure that I could "make do" with those again 🙂

It's just getting there that would be the painful bit 😬

For me a 4” Refractor and an 8” F/6 Newtonian would cover all the options.

I trust my scopes to choose for themselves, they have chosen bigamy = there are three of them in their relationship ! 6" newt, a 9"cat and a 12" dob, suits me  

PS, are we counting in binary ? if so, I have 11 !

I'm happy with my 10" Newt and my 6" Classic Cassegrain. Both mounted on the  AZ-EQ6 which is trolley mounted. Being indecisive I don't have to worry about which one to set up🤔.

I was going to suggest alternate name for it : polyscopy, but then I realized it sounds way too much like a very nasty medical exam

In recent years I have bought a few too many telescopes, so I decided to say stop. If I spend more money it will be to buy accessories that I need and are worth spending on. I will try to resist the temptations when I see one......

As far as monogamy goes, I would never have one. I would be far too worried about wood worm.
