BagenAstro
First Attempt at a Mosaic. A portion of the Virgo Super Cluster 4 frames. Frames were taken around a month ago and finally got around to giving it a shot. So I rushed through the processing part of the frames a bit to get to the mosaic part so I could start learning the process. So definitely going to go back and redo that part. Was a fun learning process for me! Lots of galaxies in there and from what I read most are 55-65 Million light years away. Quick Processing In Siril, stitching done in PTGui. Any tips or advice is greatly appreciated!
daemon
63 minutes on the Horsehead and Flame from UK South Coast last night with the S50. Fairly lightly post-processed in Pixinsight. Alnitak and some of the other bright stars are a little out of control, so may re-visit this later when I have more time.

All around 40 mins and 10 seconds subs. Removed any bad single FIT subs and stacked in Siril. Used AstroCooker then some work in Siril and GIMP. Soupir94
First attempt at imaging and processing. Comments and suggestions welcome. Seestar live stack had a satelite trail right across M81 so re-stacked with Siril and this removed it. M81 and M82. Seestar S50. 10s x 60 minutes. 9 January 2024. Siril. Astro Cooker. GIMP.
YogSothoth
I’ve never really thought about AP much as I prefer the simplicity of looking through an eyepiece and sketching what I see, but I’m quite tempted by one of these. My question is, how good a result can I get just using a iPad for processing, and what app do people recommend?

I'm sure I could do a lot better with one of my proper scopes, but the thought of spending hours stacking and playing just turns me cold. I have fitted it to my pier so it's completely stable and level.

I prefer the larger screen compared to that of a smart phone too. Certainly helps me to see the live stack developing. I don't process on the iPad though but it is easy enough to transfer the saved files to a laptop/PC/Mac and process there. I am just beginning imaging and so far I am mainly using Siril which I don't think is available on an iPad. Processing options on the iPad will I think be limited by the compatible software packages available.
chops
A few from Cornwall, where the skies this winter have rarely been clear and consequently exposures rather on the short side. Additionally I’ve had a couple of technical problems but, for now, variously unprocessed or processed on the iPhone: M1, NGC2244, M78, M42, moon, whirlpool galaxy, western veil nebula, andromeda galaxy, pleiades. clear skies!
Sunshine
These are impressive! I didn’t think any of the tiny smart scopes were as capable as this, tempting. It makes me wonder what future models of this unit will be capable of, things will only get better with time. My only laptop is a work one, so I’m not really able to download software to it. I’ll probably just buy one if I decide to get an S50. Any ideas on specs, make and cost would be appreciated. StevieDvd
Managed to take advantage of clear skies to grab a solar image or two with the Seestar Straight from the Seestar as a video and stacked in ASIVideoStack on the left and post-processed on the right. Not too shabby for a quick 2 minute video.

DaveGarland
Here's a lesson in not giving in. I was taking a pic of M45 when after only 18 mins I got these star trails. Wind, cats, who knows? Anyhoo rather than throw it out I used just the Object Eraser on my Samsung picture editor to delete the trails. Then used astrocooker to make an image without stars and then joined the last two images together using Snapspeed. Ok, not exactly Hubble but I'm pleased with this for just 18 mins. MonsterMagnet
Here are a few images I've processed in PI from stacking the light FITS from the Seestar. Bubble Nebula + M52 cluster - Iceland, Bortle 3 but full moon: Rosette Nebula - London, Bortle 9, some clouds: Wizard Nebula - Ipswich, Bortle 6: It's a great little device. I tend to mess about with it whilst the main scope is imaging or will take it away on holiday as it literally just fits under the seat in the plane (this is what I did to Iceland over Xmas). Happysolderer
This is M81 using the S50. I haven't done anything to it. Previously I had my phone/app Freeze on me and lost about an hours data. This was shortly after an update. I picked a target on a less than ideal night (a bit of very high cloud) and just left it. 20 second exposures No filter 110 mins of data
M40
-3'c outside, bright moon and didn't see a single satellite which tells you what the seeing was like, but here is a picture I never expected to get.......horsehead and flame nebula. 36 x 10 seconds (6 minutes), internal filter, no processing, seestar stacked image.

daemon
A crazy impression of the Rosette Nebula. About 1.5 hours of data captured last night with the Seestar, post in Pixinsight. A good example of why post processing is never a good idea when under the influence of legal beverages. 😉 1
