Markarian Chain - Keilder

Last Saturday night was superbly clear at the Keilder star camp. Ive wanted animage of this are for years

which is not possible from my backgarden,

The image is 40 mins RGB each through the TAK fsq and SXVFH35 camera.

Would have loved to take additional subs but that was going to be a lot of work re jigging cables after a scope transit.

A 50% image can be seen here with a little more detail. so many galaxies on the original.

Narrowband Ha can be done on midsummersday even with a full moon.

I did this last year, and the image was a black as ever.

so carry on through june and july and get some great stuff in cyg

WOW Amazing Chain - as all the others have said. Makes one wish for you to image all the sky at this time of year just to give us more MORE galaxies! I particularly like the M99 just in the corner of the widefield - good enough to stand as a galaxy shot in its own right.

That is a first class image. I had a go at this with my 20D from my back garden but it wasn't a patch on this.
