Dark Shark Nebula

In the excitement of the Aurora I had almost forgotten that I finally managed to get the colour for the Dark Shark Nebula that I got the Mono for about 2 months ago! (The last clear night!!) 3 hours Luminance binned 1x1 and about 45 mins each for RG&B binned 2x2 - grabbed in gaps between the clouds. I would like a lot more data but if we are only going to get one clear night every two months this will have to do and I will live with the noise in the image. 106mm refractor, Atik 16200 mono camera, Baader LRGB filters.

Nice. And that answered a question I had.. How long do I need to get colours stars for my nb images... Suffice to say that I doubt the 20 seconds subs I took in l r g and b last night are enough then... Cough.🙄

Nice one Skipper and don't you just love that noisy old KAF16200 sensor and the lovely stars it gives with those gorgeous little spikes  ...  mind you I also have an ASI2600mc which is pretty good

The L subs were 600 seconds binned 1x1 and the RGB was 120 seconds binned 2x2

The wee fuzzy far right middle is PGC67671 - I dont think I will be imaging that any time soon! 😉

Lovely result of a faint and tricky target.  

I also love my Atik cameras and have no intention of changing to CMOS.
