Hello from the Netherlands

Hello all. My name is Remko and i am 37 years old. I live near Amsterdam, the Netherlands.

When i was in my teenage years i was very active in an astronomy youth club but for some 15 years the hobby stopped. Lately i regained interest and i am looking for a new telescope already. The fire burns again! Also, in a Dutch forum i found some old astro friends from long ago.

Unfortunately in my village there is a lot of light so i will have to ride at least 30 miles to a decent

place without much light.

I certainly enjoy this hobby again!

Your light pollution problem, is all too familiar in most countries now, and finding a dark site usually means travelling some way out of town. Better to do that with others though. Do you not have a local Astronomical Society near you? Anyway, should you require any help or advice, there are lots of guys here willing to give it.

Yes, there is an active forum in the Netherlands and also a couple of organisations who help to

popularise the Astronomy. So, all in all no lack of fellow stargazers here.

Now only the weather should improve. It has been bad the last months... :scratch:
