This is my progress on my first Observatory. I am making it up as  go along. It  will be 12" x 8", including a small warm room. It will ahve a rolloff roof the first photo is a smaller design which has since grown a little. Hopefully I would like it water tight by the end of Oct? Time will tell how good it turns out!

Looks good so far.  Bringing a digger to an observatory ground-breaking party.  A man after my own heart :D

Yeah, having recently dug out by hand a cubic metre of soil and clay for a pier base, I really like the digger. 🥵

Impressive, much neater than my own efforts. I am aiming for the same "ready by October" target, but have carefully left it vague as to beginning or end of October 😉

As a landscape gardener, I love a mini digger. One week in a couple of hours, I refer to them as time machines.

Man, you are going to be comfy and sorted by the end of October for sure. Please keep posting as I have the very same project for next year. My only difference is I have a pier waiting to go in on a meter deep footing.

Fab start. I am slightly further on but the same size and simpler as I am visual only and want to have several scopes available. E.g 120mm Equinox on my pier and 16"dob at the side ☺

The insulation will certainly keep the wind out 👍
