What you have declared is a viable option for some folk, but like your own conscience, I felt the need to point out the finer details, omitted from your original thread. You have rectified that omission, its now down to the end user, as to which course of action they choose.

Same is true of many telescope accessories (i.e. dew-shields from camping mats) and there are a lot of members here at SGL who enjoy DIY. But that isn’t what this thread is about. I read an article about the Chimps on Tau Ceti use them to shell walnuts. It goes on to describe that they have very, very small Chimps there.

I thought I might get them for my C9.25 but its collimation is spot on and hasn't shifted in the 3 years or so I have had it. Maybe its best left alone!
