The Wizard Nebula NGC 7380

Recommended Posts

Captured over several nights in August.  One night of reasonable seeing but very twinkly on the others.

Scope: 10" LX200 ACF reduced to F7.5

Camera: QSI 532 wsg

Filters: Baader 7nm  Ha 22 x 1800secs  OIII 12 x 1800 secs.

Captured, calibrated and combined with Maxim and processed in PS with the OIII mapped to both green and blue.

Posted on the deep sky imaging board with little RGB star colour but this hasn't been included in this image

That's one of the most easily discernible "wizards" I've seen, love the colour and detail.

Likewise.  It's absolutely stunning!

One of those pics that I can't wait to show non-Astro people, as it is certainly one that captures the imagination.

Marvellous picture.   I have been trying to capture the 'Wizard'  on the last couple of occaisons and have have got nowhere near the detail you have.

The 'fingers'  are so clear and make the image special. Well done.
