Jokes on April 1st are best when they are preposterous enough to challenge gullibility (such as the news article you quote); when they are not so, well...

Unfortunately there is too much real agonizing frustration and loss of mojo going around with regard to this pastime. So this one is not to my taste.

HOWEVER - I am sure that plenty of things I relate are deemed by others to be inappropriate - my intentions notwithstanding. So fair play to those who joke about things that I would not and vice versa.
