Peter - that was post sorting collimation out and in poor seeing i.e. soup!  You were totally correct about the the CPC 1100, once sorted it is something else.  I had a quick look at M3, M36, 37 and 38.  fabulous and I couldn't recommend this scope more.  Easy to collimate also!
