My humble Perseid efforts

Recommended Posts

I made the effort last night to go and at least attempt to see some Perseids, as well as catch them on camera if I could.

My strategy was simple, aim the camera at Cassiopeia, 25s exposure every 30 seconds until I got cold, bored or scared (it's dark and lonely on the South Downs at night!).

I saw about 20 meteors I would guess, between about 10.30 and 12.30 before the clouds rolled in, with the storm not far behind.

I managed to capture 2 that could be shared as photos (the are cropped), the rest of the frames went into a timelapse.

You can spot Cassiopiea and M31 fairly easily.

i also did a shot of Cygnus directly overhead, which isn't too shabby.

Enjoy.
