Adventures in time lapse

I figured, let's play to my strengths! I don't have a DSLR, only a cheap compact with dodgy optics, tiny aperture, ISO800 that's too noisy and a 15 second max exposure. But I have a decent sized SD card (2GB), external DC power capability and a "sticky finger". So I am going to go for time-lapse widefield MOVIES!

And here's tonight's attempt. A bunch of stills captured at 15 seconds, f/3.5 at 1600x1200 and ISO 800.

That's a great video. What software did you use to convert individual frames into a movie?

How did you put the video into a post?

I used VirtualDub. I threw in a 2:1 reduction in size and a de-noise filter and compression to XviD (I think!) when saving the .avi.

Thanks KK, I wouldn't have it any other way! Hardest thing was keeping the 12V adaptor securely attached to the powertank cigar lighter socket. That physical coupling was designed in a hurry. I think I better keep the (rechargeable) AA batteries in next time, I lost power twice.
