Jupiter Occultation of Io

Windy, but decent seeing tonight and some good data coming in - just seen io occulted by ganymede :-)

Hope you got it Jake.  Seeing went rapidly downhill here, so I gave up imaging just before occultation, but did get some more good runs.

Sadly I have to work tomorrow, must get to bed but one image ready to go up from my first run before occultation.   Quality looks good, but PIPP keeps erroring out on me after the first two ouput videos (3x thus far).

Now you see me.....Peepo!    A quick animation of the occultation, produced in PIPP.    This is mono, but shows the LRGB frames in sequence with each frame representing 1 minutes capture and 19 frames in the sequence.

A colour camera would have been far simpler for this, but probably not provided the same resolution and Ganymede at least is displaying some albedo variation.   The seeing was pretty good but drops off towards the end, particularly the greens and blues.

Think I missed the do all for the histogram stretch on one frame in R6 - Tssk!

Jeez went in at 10 ish didn't realise this was going to happen !saw Ganymede transit and thought that'll do me ,mental note to self -pay more attention to moons on my 'gas giants' app!
