It's good to be back

I just realized it's been over a year since I was last here.

And what a year it's been.

I had been fairly successful knocking off Messiers from very light polluted skies in the light dome that is Manhattan suburbs.

Using an 8" Orion XT and Carte's du Ciel, Stellarium, and AstroPlanner I had a pretty good rhythm.

Then I got word my position was being eliminated and I'd be out of work.

The focus was on finding new work - which I did very quickly.

It mean a relocation so I'm no longer in NJ, but in the Piedmont region of North Carolina.

Since I had to work on my NJ home to make it marketable, I bartered with my brother-in-law and he now has my big dob.

I still have the little one, a 4.5 table top dobsonian which really is a let down.

Because I found a new position quickly enough, I've got some left over severance for a new rig.

Anyway, to make a long story short, hello (again), and I hope to be a little more active.
