Milkyway from Bala Lake

Recommended Posts

Decided to take a chance on the weather and headed to Bala Lake last night. It was breath taking up there and was glad to get the astrotrac set up so I could admire the skies. Most enjoyable night I've had in a loooong time :D.

Lovely. Lots of stars and lots of colour too - great.

What were you using to track, and what ISO did you use?

Jd

Thanks Jd, It was on an astrotrac and was shot @ iso 400

I connect mine to my android tablet get a huge screen then

I use a little netbook which I guess is about the same size as a tablet?

I find for widefield with short lens' the 10X feature on the camera is adequate for getting close, then I tweak it with the netbook. No Idea if this is the right way to go about it. I don't do it this way with the scope.

The results would suggest that it works quite nicely :)
