First time out for a while, seeing was quite steady but wind was a problem! First image taken with my dfk, the others taken with the dmk similar processing applied to colour & mono images but leaves me in no doubt mono was the way to go with so much more detail being extracted!

Hi Simon, yes the windy conditions of late have been a real issue. The weather by and large for the last couple of weeks has been very poor and it looks set to continue for some time yet as far as I can tell. We really do suffer in the UK don't we!!!

Very nice set of images though and a good comparison with your DFK. They show the merits of mono imaging off very nicely.

Very nice!, I was just observing but seeing seemed pretty good, definitely a bit windy though!

I'm really interested in the cameras used for these images, and I'm thinking of spending a couple of hundred in the new year but I have a question..... With this images stacking how important is guiding for Jupiter?

Is it worth me getting a proper camera before motorising the mount?

Thanks my advice is to drive your mount first, & a good polar alignment helps no need to guide, also a good webcam like an spc 900 can be purchased fairly cheap to get started!

Nice shots there Simon given the conditions. Adjusting the black point will help with the planet edge on the RGB images.

Thanks for the tips Freddie will give it a go!
