Bardsey Island - Milky Way

Hello,

This one of my first finished edits from my recent trip to the Llyn Peninsula in Wales. Cannot wait to go back as the skies are the best I have ever seen!! A truly amazing place for astronomy......and more images to come shortly!

This was a composition of two shots.

The sky was shot using an Astrotrac - 1 sub - 150secs

The foreground and island - 1 sub - 120secs

Edited in Photoshop.

Oh I love the Lynn peninsula I reckon the skies there are probably one of the darkest in the uk thats were we go camping is very good later in the year!

Cracking use of the location...

I have had a similar shot planned from Rhossili with Worms head in the foreground ideally around high tide so the causeway is covered...

Your image makes me even more determined to get down there and actually do it...

Great picture, from Holyhead and sailed round there frequently.

Psychobilly, great locations in Pembrokeshire, also give Marloes a go, great views from the beach (no beach when tide in!) and cliffs

I was in LLangian just outside Abersoch in April, great place, going back mid-october with a few toys !
