I saw this online today and thought I would post a link.

It really helps to get your head around the huge distances involved in our solar system and makes it all seem a lot more real in an everyday perspective.

I thought that the Total Perspective Vortex invented by Trin Tragula (who was a dreamer, a thinker, a speculative philosopher or, as his wife would have it, an idiot), proved conclusively that sentient life forms cannot afford to have a true sense of perspective, given the size of our universe. :D

Very true and I notice that astronomers refer to Andromeda as being in our "local" group of Galaxies. I can only assume that use of the term contains some irony. As to perspective most peoples view is, me, and everything else

sorry but I don't agree,if the planets were that close we would simply turn our scopes around and try to make the planets as small as possible :grin:
