M42 and Running man

Finally managed to use my ED80 after 2 months of non stop clouds. This is 11x300s, 7x400s and some 20s, 10s and 6s for the core, Canon 1000D and skywatcher LP filter. I would have liked to get more but the clouds rolled in.

That's very nice indeed. The bright and fainter areas are nicely balanced as are the colours.

That's a lovely image, especially the trapezium area. I thought that 15 secs would do it and absolutely frazzled it. Having seen your image, I'll take up your approach of a range (not just one) of lower exposures to capture it.
