I've been using 10x50's for a while now & am in the same position as you.

I'll definitely be going down the imaging route and - while I'm saving for a refractor - I'm going to get an HEQ5 & attach my DSLR for some wide field photography.

(Hopefully have the scope soon after!)

I would advise you to take your time & research before buying. The guidance you'll get from the guys on this forum is second to none!
