Why the US won't be building a Death Star soon ...

This is the official US Government response to the online petition calling on them to "Secure resources and funding, and begin construction of a Death Star by 2016". Any online petition that reaches 50,000 signatures will trigger an official White House repsonse.

I assume this response has been drafted by a Nasa representative, and It's actually very funny, worth a laugh! :).

Point 1 could be a red herring, they have actually have worked out a budget for one?

Point 2 will change when the Republicans get in. Sarah Palin with her finger on the button of a Death Star.

Point 3 which could be sorted by putting a man hole cover over the hole.

If that is an 'official' US authority response, not issued on April 1st, well......

I'm reminded of an incident in a school physics lesson. Sir was demonstrating an induction coil and producing 1" sparks that jumped through moist air easily, around photo film, etc. One boy asked... Sir is that how a ray gun works? Response. Mackay, there is no such thing as a ray gun. But that was circa 1968.

But. If this is a proper response. No wonder many people think the Apollo missions were faked. No wonder so many think they have been abducted by aliens.

Enough of this. I'm back to the obsy now to set up everything for tonight. I'm hoping to see Elvis in a spaceship if the sky is clear.
