M42 .... + light polution ;O(

Hi all this is my attempt at the Orian nebula .... New camera certainly lets lots of colour in love it ... But I have soooo much light polution when I retire Im moving to the north norfolk coast only got 20 yrs to go

Not everyone has got dark skies, I do most of my imaging at the in-laws for this very reason.

I'd love to be able to get one like that at home.

Even with the LP that is a very nice image.

I agree with andyboy1970, the defraction pattern is a little strange - similar to a Bahtinov mask pattern!

Thanks I can explane the strainge spikes .... I used a sky watcher LP filter that I borrowed, and it has 2 cracks in it and it has this affect on some stars lol

Ah, that explains it then, just need to rotate it so it lines up with the pattern caused by the secondary spider arms.

hey Chas you need to bring your red channel in line with the green and blue when i looked at the histogram the red was not inline this will get rid of some of the orange
