Hi All

I've been picking up helpful info from SGL for a while now, so thought I'd better join up! I got back into astronomy a couple of years ago after 25 or more years away (work commitments :D). I couldn't believe the quality and range of kit you can get now at decent prices - last time round if you wanted a decent scope you had to make it yourself. Anyone else old enough to remember spending days walking round an oil drum with a mirror blank and a selection of grits and cutting up gas pipes to make Dob bearings? Oh happy days! Anyway, now got an 8" SCT altaz and imaging with a DSLR (30sec subs only). The aim is to push this kit to the limits before going for anything more exotic - if only those !%*&! clouds would clear off!
