Hello back. I've just joined but haven't bought a telescope yet.

although I've got the telescope I ran out of money when looking for a mount, so I'm using a redsnapper camera tripod at the moment - good tripod but a bit hopeless for anything other than casual viewing with a 25mm ep!

birthday coming up soon, so dropping hints about a SW HEQ5 (optimistic or what!)

really clear skies tonight & knocked myself out looking at the moon, venus, jupiter & mars - woohoo!

I do have some 10x50 binoculars and the moon is really nice through them

I'm thinking of buying the Skywatcher 150P on the EQ3 mount. Seems a good compromise between cost, size and potential views
