Hi All

Just bought the family our first Telescope, the Celestron 130EQ, managed to assemble it all and setup the starfinder OK, although its a little useless in the dark !

Hoping for some clear skies this weekend so we can get outside and try it out.

I am sure I will have lots of questions to come over the next few weeks.

Speak Soon

Tony

Hi Tony and welcome to the forum. I know they include a CD with some planetarium software on it, but I would like to recommend that you take a look at Stellarium here. It's free, easy to use and can be configured to your exact viewing location. It has plenty of 'toys' on it to keep you occupied when the clouds come in (...and stay in!) and a useful one is the date/time advance feature which can help you plan your observations as it can reveal when objects will appear in the sky. Hope you first night goes well and look forward to reading on how you got on.

Clear skies

James
