i had reason to contact Lee at greenwitch the other day about some eyepieces, and he also said he would be happy to come along and do a talk at one of our meetings -

I do do talks [not sales related] - observing techniques /telescopes of the future / noctilucent clouds [summer time only] aurora watching and more, so let me know if you want me to give a talk sometime.

This weekend not too bad crash as moon sets by midnight.

Sets but it still has influence on galaxies and nebula for a good hour or two afterwards.probably not as bad fir imaging but it kills viewing

Yeah I suppose forecast looking better now for tomoz night so will be heading up Sutton bank, think I'm gonna image a galaxy tomoz as not done one for a while and then early morning will do a bit of comet hunting.

Sky was clear at 4am although I didn't get the scope out but hope its the same tonight as I'll definitely have an hour or two?

Well car is all packed up ready for tonight's trip to Sutton bank I will be imaging through the beast tonight getting some close up shots on some galaxies.

Luckily the fire next door is now out so the smoke has chance to clear before its dark. Fingers crossed for clear skies

I will have to come down to a meeting one night when i drive to work rather than the train (work in Wakefield city centre). All clouded out here tonight though, suppose to get a storm as well according to TV forecast, even though the internet forecast says clear from 1am..

Getting some good imaging done up here at Sutton Bank just done 2hrs 40mins on M51 and now on M97 both through the 11" SCT and looking good, skies are crystal clear and it's mighty cold now Milky Way just showing through now moon has gone down. Hoping to get Comet ISON later if skies hold out and batteries last.

Im out now and between my test 2min exposure and the start of my proper run i seem to of gone from good tracking to bad tracking! Pretty sure ive not accidently kicked anything either

Just got home now from Sutton bank had a terrific night got some great images think al be using the SCT a lot more for imaging now, started doing the Horsehead Nebula and looked great until the cloud rolled in a spoilt everything so that's a defo for next time.

Whats your imaging set up? Im just getting into really and am just doing unguided images. Managed some 2minute exposures with little star trails at the minute, but hopefully looking to set up guiding.

Got about an hours worth of M31 tonight before clouds past over and left a high mist. Could barely see M45 afterwards.
