Hi,

I thought I should introduce myself. I am Mike, a 27 year old back yard astronomer from Cambridgeshire. I have had skywatcher 130 newtonian for about 2 years now and have spent many a night visiting planets, nebulae and galaxies through the eyepiece! I am really looking foreward to hearing about other peoples experiences of the night sky. I have no preference about what I look at up there and am equally captivated by planets and deep sky objects. I am starting my journey into astrophotography now and plan to start right at the grass roots and really learn how to do this properly. I would love to take some great pics but also I really just want to enjoy looking through the eyepiece and thinking "thats amazing"

I hope that here I can learn from the basics up and enjoy this journey!

Thanks for having me

Hi Mike and welcome to the forum. You're in good company here if imaging (...or as we sometimes say, 'the Darkside') is where you want to go as there is a lot of experience on the forum ready to help - look forward soon to seeing your contribution to Picture of the Week!

Clear skies and keep up with the observing too.

James
