Hello. My name is Ron an empty nester that now has time to devote to the hobby I have enjoyed since receiving my first telescope (from Montgomery Wards) as a Christmas present when I was 7. During the past 51 since, I have been in and out of the hobby due to life getting in the way. I currently using an 8" Celestron SCT and bought a CGEM equitorial mount last year. In the past, I have dabbled in astrophotography but got a little costly. Now with the new digital photography, my interest has been renewed. My first venture back into astrophotography will be using a web cam. Since becoming a member of SGL, I found there to be very knowledge members in many areas of astronomy and at all levels. I am looking forward to not only learn but but also share what I can.
