Hey all..

I've just joined SGL after being a silent browser for the past few months and thought I'd say hello.

I'm pretty new to astronomy - apart from the very small refracter I had when I was young, my Sky Watcher Explorer 150p is my first scope. I bought it back in May and am really happy with it so far. Unfortunately I live under some pretty polluted skies, with a street light at the end of my garden, so love taking it with me when I go away. So far I've seen Saturn, Jupiter and M31 (I think, I'm still learning the sky!).

Hopefully I'll get even more use out the scope as the new season starts and maybe even attend my first star party.

Thanks for the tip Todd. I bought an LP filter recently (not sure of the make without checking), but it's not much help in the garden as we back on to a main road and the eyes never get properly dark adjusted. It has been great for use on the local cricket pitch though :)
