M101 project

Shot some LRGBHa of M101 last night to see what needs doing. This is a very dim and distant thing and needs much more than the 7 minute Lum frames that I got. Next clear night and I'll try to do it properly.

Looks promising and the image scale is just right with the 200mm Newt.

Looking good CC. The arms are showing up beautifully. Some proper luminence of this target is on my agenda as well. Thought it was going to be a bit too breezy last night. Looking forward to more. Did you use the "lighten" blend mode for the Ha?

Looks like it will be put on hold with the forecast being so poor, but it has promise.

Martin, the lighten technique you described is the way it was done. It works very well with reasonable data.

Matt, this was just 12 for luminance and 7 each for the RGB and Ha.
