Hi, all

I'm from Birmingham and have always had a passing interest in astronomy, but the last six months that passing interest has become a raging obsesion. I've been using a pair of 7x50 binoculars (my late Grandad's, God bless his wrinkly old head) and have seen and learnt alot with the aid of the internet. But I crave more.

Like a small child, who can't quite reach the sweet counter, I yearn for the Milky and beyond!

So, I'm currently trawling through the murky depths of the internet, over the next week or so, to try and find the perfect scope for my budget (Between two and three-hundred of our, now seemingly worthless, English pounds )

See you all around!

Cheers for the kind words, you've all made me feel very welcome in what is a daunting time for me (buying a scope) My eyes keep getting drawn back to the skywatcher 150, I understand a parabolic mirror is best, too, right? I read the sticky on eye pieces, quite late last nigt, and obviously need to take this into consideration as well.

There's a shop not to far from me, in warwickshire, I'm going to check out, as I don't know if I really trust a courier with my final purchase!
