Hi, Phil here, just joined. I've been in astronomy for quite a while mostly on the low cost end of the hobby. I have a Meade ETX90 and recently acquired an antique, 8" Criterion Dynascope Reflector. Ive madde a filter for my ETX for solar viewing. I also use binoculars along with a homemade first surface mirror mount for bino work. Lots of LP to deal with but still manage to get in decent views.

Slowly trying to get started in Radio astronomy too with an IBT and VLF monitoring.

Next steps are to make a new base for the 8" Criterion to a Dob mount and get a laptop going for outdoor work. Most of what I do is on a shoestring budget. I prefer DIY.

Belong to a local club at Montclair Univ. in NJ. NJASTRO

regards

Phil :D
