  1. No it's not, it's a way in from that. I don't recall the steps off hand but lets say the EAF step range is 0-60000. My Luminance focusses around 9000 so I have the max limit set at 12000 and the zero point set at 7000 for sake of argument. In all of my focussing runs I have never strayed out of the range needed to focus but I have seen reports where folk have experienced the EAF racking all the way in or out for whatever reason so by me setting those limits I've minimised the "fault condition", well in my mind at least.
  2. Try using the DateMinus12 then you don't get the day change when you go by midnight either, that's a game changer 🙂 🙂 🙂
  3. You can use a whole load of variables including for directory names, here's mine as an example:
  4. Is it fair to say then that you are choosing gain 6 in Nebulosity but it seems to be using 0? Do you have any other acquisition software you could try to narrow down where the breakdown is happening?
  5. I think in line with what @newbie alert is saying with my EAF I set my MIN/MAX settings in the ASCOM driver to be a reasonable range either side of what is my typical focus point of my Lum filter. This range allows for focus of all my other filters and also allows for temp/HFR variations. By minimising the range I both stop the focusser from racking all the way in and out and from hitting the end stops. EDIT: In fact I just checked and my memory isn't what it was and actually all I could set was the MAX limit...... EDIT2: Nope that's not correct because you also set the Zero point to wherever you want it to be so I was right, apols 🙂
  6. Given you asked here are my settings for a GT81:
  7. While you're checking out PI posts here's a favourite too: https://pixinsight.com/forum/index.php?threads/how-wbpp-2-4-5-retrieves-the-information-of-files-in-the-session.18806/
  8. I don't have PI in front of me right now but it's a thousand times easier to show you than try and remember 🙂 If you select the lights and then a particular config option from the right hand side you'll see the darks and flats assigned as "Auto" from here you can be specific and pick the actual file you'd prefer. Even if I've not explained properly just have a look round, it's there and you will find it 🙂
  9. ok then maybe a quick way of doing it would be to load the flat files in as they are and manually select the flat flames to match the lights. Load the lights with a common filter name and then combine the output using the filter as the tag, would that work?
  10. Select a common filter keyword in "custom" and then check that you're seeing one output file in post-calibration. Oh that might mess your flats up actually What does Post-Calibration show anyway, maybe you can do it there regardless?
  11. Yeah, waiting for the flattener coming in they said 🙂
  12. You are being over cautious. Just blow it out or fetch it out with a thin bit of "something", don't need to over think this at all. Having said that I don't think it'll make the slightest scrap of difference....
  13. Is that just for the scope or the whole shooting match? Assume the top end was supposed to be £1500?
  14. I assume you have this option ticked in PHD2, which GSS needs anyway?
  15. What does the fits header say? Can you use another application to see what it thinks?
  16. Thanks and will do. There is nothing stopping me doing so I just used -5 as it was easier on the kit more than anything else to be fair.
  17. I think he said he tried EQMOD and GSServer. Nothing wrong with having both available though. I can use either if needed although I do use GSServer.
  18. Thanks Vlaiv, very interesting as usual. For my much more simple brain and in my Bortle 4/3 and my "usual" 300s narrowband exposures does this mean that, all things being equal, I "should" be cooling lower than -5 then?
  19. Oh yes forgot that bit but I've never found going less than -5 is needed but that could well be because I'm not fussy 🙂
  20. Ok in that case the best I can do is it means it could not determine any change in the exposures. I can't help any more than that I'm afraid.....
  21. Are you using dynamic brightness? If so try setting it above 0%
  22. Ah ok fair enough I was ignoring possible hardware issues. Certainly possible to get damp but how likely I wouldn't know and I guess very much depends on your environment. I just reread the issue you have with the handset so agreed it may well be something more than configuration, apologies if I gave false hope......
  23. I have the QHY version but keep it simple to start with and put offset to about 30, gain at unity as Vlaiv says and leave it in 11M mode. Then you can work on getting decent flats. I'm assuming you bought the ZWO package that comes with the filter masks so you should have minimal reflections and be pretty much good to go.
