  1. I'm using 64 bit NINA but I have everything running in it but snap to using Steve's setup as a guide. I will say I've had a little bit of a problemette with my dome controller so Steve at Pulsar is sending me another one out but he has been absolutely brilliant, couldn't ask for more.
  2. Thanks and yes that's the plan. I'm already using NINA so I just need to add the Observatory into the mix. Once it's basically working I just need a clear night to make sure all the settings are correct and the dome is actually doing what it should and that my safety routines work etc etc.
  3. Thought I'd post this as I got the dome up over the weekend. I'm not one for documenting every step so apologies for not doing that.... Still have to terminate the SWA cable and do all the fine configuration etc before it's really ready to go. I'll also need to then take everything out and put my floor down and seal the base and things like that but the main stuff is done I guess....
  4. Here you go, this one works ok 🙂 IC1396.json
  5. Yes, if you wish I can send you an example sequence
  6. Once you've configured it (on the plugin page) you have a Robocopy Start and a Robocopy Stop in the sequence. Also the start command specifies the location to copy to. I just put the start in the startup section and the stop in the end section but I put a 2 minute wait before the stop to allow any file copy to finish
  7. By the way, if you use Robocopy, even as the plugin in NINA, you can automate copying the files to the NAS. It's exactly what I do.
  8. The hub on my 294 mc pro never had any issue and I ran a filter wheel and focuser from it no problem at all so they're not all problematical.
  9. Yep will be releasing a few periodically and there are 36 in total. The first one highlighted something I didn't know about the little dots in the workspaces 🙂 🙂 🙂 Full list: Workspaces AutoHide Windows (I) AutoHide Windows (II) Image Windows Views ScreenTransferFunction (I) ScreenTransferFunction (II) ScreenTransferFunction (III) Masks Process Windows (I) Process Windows (II) Process Windows (III) Process Windows (IV) Dynamic Processes Previews View Selector Actions Process Icons (I) Process Icons (II) Processing History (I) Processing History (II) Processing History (III) Processing History (IV) Processing History (V) Processing History (VI) Processing History (VII) PixInsight Projects Development Community Development Community – WeightedBatchPreprocessing Development Community – Image Analysis Scripts Development Community – Image Inspection Processes Development Community -- Astrometry Tools Development Community -- Comet Alignment Development Community -- Multispectral Imaging Scripts 1 Development Community -- Multispectral Imaging Scripts 2 Development Community -- Intensity Transformations 1 Development Community -- Intensity Transformations 2
  10. I'm all for buying stuff and if it's going to be permanent I don't see the point of an AM5 so I'd be looking at EQ8 or CEM120 or MESU or Trident.... But I have to ask why a RASA? Focal length will be same-ish as what you have now although I get it will collect data faster so why not a longer refractor? If you've not worked it out yet I'm sharing my upgrades with you 🙂 🙂
  11. The QHY cameras will start to cool as soon as 12v is applied. Also NINA will not show the % cooling until asked to cool and then it fetches the information from the camera. With regard to the temp being low from the get go then I'm not sure. My 294 will warm up as soon as the USB is connected and NINA seems to show that temp just fine. Of course as soon as 12v is applied the temp drops to about 0 degrees until I ask it to cool and then it will go to the -5 degrees that I have set in the config.
  12. Just to be clear I wasn't suggesting you had reflections and the blackened edges won't stop light getting past if there is a small gap. That's what the Buckeye masks prevent. If this is a problem for you I guess it's not unreasonable that one filter/slot in the filter wheel could be affected more than another. Like I say just a thought.
  13. Is there a possibility it's a light leak past the filters which is "different" for real images versus flats hence the effect when stacked? I use the Buckeye filter masks with my filters and it made a big difference to the reflections I was seeing. May be different for you but just wondered if it was worth a thought that's all.
  14. Darn it, after reading the first sentence I was ready to put pen to paper but you managed to rectify it 🙂 🙂 All joking aside "if" you can get by without an ASIAIR (personally I'd recommend NINA but each to their own) then I would put that money towards an electronic filter wheel. In fact if you go for the ZWO mini you'd have money left over and could get the 1.25" L-eXtreme as well as a UV/IR too 🙂 Edit - I'd probably also say the EAF is "essential" as my view is once you've used one, well you know how the saying goes......
  15. Oh sorry, yes I would but same comments apply that you may have to "tweak" things to get the flats working as you need. The l-extreme worked brilliantly in my opinion.
  16. Personally I'd have no problem having another colour 294 but I do appreciate that some folk have a hard time getting them set up 100% I have the mono QHY 294 which by all accounts is not as finicky as the colour versions but even so I still had to tweak getting the flats as I wanted them. If you want an almost guaranteed easy life then I'd probably suggest either the 533 or 2600. Downsides there are, respectively, sensor size and cost......
  17. For me, using a gain of 200 eliminated the flats issues. I'd also had some issues with offsets but that aside moving away from gain 121 seemed to work ok.
  18. I have the dome going on to a flat concrete base so how do you suggest I stop water seeping underneath without a bead of silicon? I mean even Pulsar themselves put this method in their instructions. I realise if I'd built a fancy base it would be a different story but I didn't.....
  19. I'm actually doing the final fixing of my new dome on Saturday so were you getting water in even after applying silicon around the base?
  20. With stars, absolutely no question but that would be my answer every time 🙂 🙂
  21. Do you mean the height of the tripod? I have an AZ-EQ6 so could measure that as the tripods are the same but if you want mount included then possibly cannot help.
  22. I like the image but what processing did you use as there is an odd halo around the stars? Sorry for asking but genuinely curious for my own knowledge.
