  1. Oh yeah!!!!! I have had 3 people try to get plate solving working for me. 3 have failed. 2 attempts were with APT, one by a regjular user of APT and Platesolving in APT, just could not get it to work. The other was with Sharpcap. All the correct Catalogues entered, all connected, went to target, but would not solve, then got lots of connection issues. I have given up and gone back to doing it manually. Normally not a problem if I sync to a nearby bright star. Only had 2 occasions when I failed to find my target in 13 years.
  2. Presume you are using plate solving. I don't use plate solving, but I know some-one who does, and he took the original captured image and plate solved the centre of the image and then used that to plate solve subsequent sessions. Non plate solving method, I take a previous image as an example, and when I GOTO for the second time, I just examine the stars around the edges and make sure everything is in the right place. Not too fussed if I have to take a tiny bit off the edge as I don;t dither, and use this as a "sort of" dither anyway. Not sure if either of these suggestions will help since I use different software to you.
  3. I agree, I don't think it is possible to image both simultaneously, too much difference in brightness, maybe even needing different cameras.
  4. That's very good for a first image. Much better than my first attempts.
  5. It's not the ISS as that is more of an H shape. Too straight to be a bird and no flapping wings. Guess it is one of those 1000s of satellites up there.
  6. Interesting to see the original poster has not been back on. I bet he posted just to wind every one up. You all seem to have had a good discussion though.
  7. I don’t use PHD 2 but my gut reaction to reading this is l presume you have got your mount tracking in the Northern Hemisphere and or have done a guiding calibration before trying to guide? Also done a good PA.
  8. Lovely image but there is something not right with the colour.
  9. I agree with Simon. I live in SE London Bortle 8 and can only do NB from here. Can you try speaking to the Haulage company.
  10. Also found this one which seems to have a range of accommodation This 5 star park offers a range of accommodation including camping and motorhome pitches, glamping pods, lodges and caravans. The range of superb facilities including a bar and restaurant, leisure club with swimming pool and sauna, pitch 'n' putt course https://www.campsites.co.uk/search/holiday-lodges-in-dorset/bridport/highlands-end-holiday-park
  11. I generally do twice as much Ha to the other filters, despite it being the stronger signal as you need that for the fine detail. Generally the other colours are just that, colours, with a few exceptions. I use photoshop and adjust the colour sliders in image adjust selective colour using green to adjust the Ha in the green channel and lifting the Cyan in the Cyan channel for the blue and reducing yellow in the Cyan slider also brings out the blue. This might not help with the software you are using though from the colour adjust point of view. You look to have done an excellent job.
  12. A great result, those Optolong Filters work very well with OSC cameras. Carole
  13. Stunning image. Looking firward to seeing it on a big screen and not just my phone. Carole
  14. Just found this one on the internet. Looks quite large with electric hook up and is accessible from the London area, and Dorset is pretty dark. Looks like 65 pitches, do we need as many as 100? Looks like some Glamping Lodges too. Says Bortle 4 on Dark Sky map. and it is central for those of us in the South. Sorry this is large, just copied and pasted. 24 x Electric Grass Pitches 7 x Grass Hardstanding Pitches 25 x Serviced Hardstanding Pitches9 x Serviced Grass Pitches 9 x Serviced Grass Pitches https://www.campsites.co.uk/search/campsites-in-hampshire/fordingbridge/hill-cottage-farm-camping-and-caravan-park
  15. There were a lot of suggestions made on the previous thread. I will put my thinking cap on though. Carole
  16. Welcome to being an active poster. Enjoyed your story of being banned and the T Shirt saga. Carole
  17. If you did decide to get it l recommend adding a 10” pelmet around the “roof” as l have done aa existing oneis too skimpy. I also added clips to hold it diwn and they make it easy to put back on in the dark.
  18. I have found that tent that l have on sale in Europe for £128 in the sale: https://www.astroshop.eu/instruments/omegon-tent-observatory/p,12278
  19. I have a proper camping observatory not as expensive as the Kendrick tents but was about £180. Not sure howveasy it is to find them now though. I use it ar astro camps. Originally bought from Astrograph. It has a removable roof and built in floor
