  1. I used to own an M603 with a course focuser. I immediately regretted selling it. The optics were sublime. It really was a step up from an SCT. I could just never tease the same planetary detail from my C8 that I could from the M603.
  2. Very nice Neil. The Jupiter image is especially nice. Some good detail in the image.
  3. Don't worry, we are safe for now. I have checked everywhere and the 4mm & 7mm are not in stock anywhere...lol
  4. I have the 16mm Nirvana and love it. Such a bargain for a well corrected ultra wide. I just need the 7mm now.
  5. Hello Dave, Welcome back to the group. I'm also picking up the hobby again after a spell away (2013-2020). Russ
  6. That's an epic shot. Well deserved with 3 cameras on the go.
  7. Sounds like you have some decent skies Stu. Should be great with the scope.
  8. Stu, was that bright one at 10:45 skimming through Ursa Major and predominantly orange in colour? We literally stepped out the house and saw a really bright one above the roof.
  9. Wasn't a great show sadly. We observed from 11pm to 2am. First 1.5hours was dedicated to meteors alone. We saw 18 in all over that 1.5 hour period. One was a belter, straight through Ursa Major. Nice and colourful too. The rest were fast and not particularly bright. After that we switched to planets and spotted a couple out the corner of the eye. But nothing spectacular.
  10. Same for us down the road in Eastleigh. Our seeing was reasonable by around 12:30. Jupiter was acceptably good at 180x, showing lots of detail in the belts. The transit was nice. It was razor sharp at 90x. Saturn on the other hand just never got going. Just a tad too low. Looked okay at 90x but that was it.
  11. Cracking video Luke. Now i know why I only saw two meteors after an hour of looking. They are either too few in number or just too faint for my light polluted sky. Try again tonight. Will you be doing another video tonight if you get the chance?
  12. Great scope. I would have the guts to tinker with one. I took my M603 apart once as the focuser was playing up. Then put it straight back together and posted it off for repair....
  13. Both very nice but I also prefer the first. Cannot beat a superbly done M31. And that is a beauty. Well done.
  14. Amazingly we are forecast clear here from 9pm to 3am ...... can it it really be true. Perseid maximum, no moon and the Io transit.
  15. That's an absolutely stunning image. Love the star colours, details in the galaxy. And doesn't look over processed, really nice.
  16. Superb animation and great set of images.
  17. I quite like the effect. Makes the stars and colours pop. I wasn't sure when I saw Alyn's first video with it but definitely adds something. Nice photos, looks great with the Windmill. Second photo is really nice.
  18. 4 bolts ordered from Ebay, £3.30 delivered. Thank you Craig.
  19. Sorry to drag up an old thread but are the dovetail threads on the bottom M6x1.25 with 1/4" 20 UNC on the top of the rings?
  20. The BST Starguiders will be a nice upgrade from those 10mm and 25mm eyepieces. Will be well worth it. Also worth mentioning collimation with it being a Newtonian telescope. If the collimation is off the view will be degraded and even the supplied eyepieces may have more to give.
