  3. I'll try and send clear skies your way as a thank you, lol.
  4. My partner said they'll get some champagne for the opening, lol.
  5. I'm going to get some vinyl decals made up to put on the doors of the Observatories.

  7. Just tidied up cementing, pavers and started just two blocks for the decking.
  8. Still contemplating, lol, but I'm drawn to "The Phoenix Complex" will let peps know by 1800hrs British summer time tonight, lol.
  9. Thanks peps, funny, serious and thought provoking answers, lol. I had a thought about calling it, "cloud base" lol.
  10. Thanks Olly, yeah, I'm not going to have so much threaded bar exposed on this one, lol.
  11. Half my family are Scottish so it's been mentioned the name "Rionnag complex" meaning "Star complex" I like that too, and the name phoenix, lol. Great peps, love this forum and all you lovely people.
  12. I like that, as both the RoR and the dome will have been renewed.
  13. That's the scariest, spy in the sky. Have to use camaflarge netting, lol.
  14. Hi all, I've completed the RoR Observatory out of the existing wooden shed, now started with the rebuild of the dome. Looking for name suggestions for my Observatory complex, lol. I did think about the Sir Patric Moore observatory complex, lol. Suggestions appreciated.
  15. I think I didn't line up the two images properly in Photoshop hence the double image. That's what happened. Just not redone it as I've been busy moving ,etc. Single frames are fine.
  16. These attached are my very first attempts last year before I moved. Still a lot to learn, so different from imaging planet's and sun. Also started spectral analysis with the OO12 last year, attached spectra and spectra chart.
  17. Yeah, did a little so far. Got some image's , I'll look them up .
  18. Thanks, yeah, I'll need to repaint the inside and out.
  19. Hi Paul, yes I do use the primary fan before I do imaging, I've added a digital temperature gauge too. I've also modded the focuser with a moonlight and skywatcher electronic focus which helps with focus. Never noticed flexing during imaging to be honest but not done a lot up to now due to house move last November and dome only just being relocated here at my new home. I'm impressed to be honest with my 12inch Orion optics. I've had SCT 8, 10 12 and currently have a 11inch XLT too but my favourite is still the 0012.
  20. Hi, I had a 35mm Lunt several years ago and visually showed surface and prom details but the helical focuser was a pain so I moved up to the 60mm Lunt. Especially if you want eventually to image. Better to get the one with a Cranford or feather touch focuser. Also with those it's easier to add an electronic focus in the future. As astronomical equipment looses so much when you sell them and move up to something else I tend to go second hand. At the end of the day the 50mm is a good starter but not so much can be done with it. The double stack unit is another plus £1100. And double stack is when hydrogen alpha telescope's really kick off.
  21. I see there's one for £2500 double stack, may be worth investigating.
  22. Have you thought about a second hand 60mm Lunt for the same price roughly as a new 50mm? I added a double stack unit a year later both second hand. Cost £1950 in all second hand instead of £5000.
