Dark sites - personal protection
Nigella Bryant replied to Maideneer's topic in Getting Started General Help and Advice
I usually have the company of my female cat. She's quite tiny compared to my Norwegian forest cat but he's so timid my little cat see's off anything she considers trespassing and protects my big cat, it's quite funny to watch. She's my little Nija, lol. I feel quite safe with her by my side, lol. -

I only had a very brief moment when the clouds was not so dense that I could see near maximum with the binoculars and baader Solar film. Not enough time to capture anything with the camera.

Clouded out here with rain 😭

Thanks, they're the triple mounted solar setup enables me to image in three wavelengths, hydrogen alpha, calcium II k and white light.

Hi all, screenshots for info of solar activity. New plage area South Eastern quadrant, AR2827 developing nicely and large prom on the South Western quadrant. Several smaller proms dotted around the disk.

Hi, I don't take off the double stack but I know other people do. I don't use a focal reducer for full disk using a Zwo ASI 178mm camera. I do sometimes use a 2.5x powermate for closer image's but more often than not use just region of interest in the camera settings in firecapture. For full disk I capture 1000 frames with a 40% stack and close up 3000/4000 with a 15/20% stack in autostakker 3. Yes, the scope's are expensive but my double stack was second hand so that made it affordable. Hope that helps.

Yeah, the newly assigned AR2826 has certainly burst into an active region with full blown spot group.
