  1. I did my own base. 951507791_ThePhoenixComplex.mp4.6cdab084b534a435674981bd66ea793e.mp4
  2. Awwww, that would have been nice to meet up, yeah, perhaps another time, hopefully. All the best.
  3. Thanks Carole, we've decided not to go after talking about it this morning.
  4. To be honest I'm a little apprehensive about covid so probably won't be interacting with anyone. The whole reason for going was to meet people from SGL. I'm booked and paid for so can't get the money back but in two minds to actually go to the honest.
  5. Glad it wasn't to bad in the end with just a cable. I also use Lindy cables for my astro equipment and computers. Take care.
  6. Oh dear, I just had a broken chiminea. Hopefully all your electrical stuff will dry out.
  7. No that dome isn't worth it. I bought a 2.7m full height pulsar dome for £1,500 a few years ago. It's not automated and I personally don't mind. I do however sit in there under the stars listening to the owl's and foxes. Attached is my refurbishment. Long story but I had moved house and left the dome till I could pick it up during the first lockdown and thieves thought it contained something nice and tried to break into the empty dome, lol. It was a nice project though. 951507791_ThePhoenixComplex.mp4.6cdab084b534a435674981bd66ea793e.mp4
  8. I have both a RoR and a dome. I managed to get a pulsar dome second hand and last year refurbished it. It's not automated, did think about it but eventually didn't bother. I personally don't prefer one over the other although on cold days in winter I like sitting in the warm room in the RoR and the scopes out in the cold, lol.
  9. New monitor arrived today for my solar RoR. Everything inspected as usual from my kitty cat. Apparently everything was okay, lol.
  10. Update, I ended up with the Eq8 r pro mount. Only recently though. Covid hit and I couldn't get my hands on a mount until recently. Not really used in anger yet as I've had awful weather. Just installed in the dome and did a home sync and connected everything up. Usb3 hub works with my zwo camera's too.
  11. We'll be in H10. Looking forward to meeting all from SGL. Just taking my modded canon, a couple of Len's and the clock drive.
  12. Yeah, always have the CATadioptic while solar imaging, lol. She loves being in the obsy with me. Her nickname is"Astrocat "
  13. Everything has to be inspected to see it's okay. Nothing gets passed my cat's too, lol.
  14. Nice, I've got the Bresser branded 100mm, use it for Cak solar. Brilliant scope for solar.
  15. This purchase is really boring but necessary, lol. New 9.5kg counterweight for the Eq8 R pro mount. Means better momentum on the counterweight shaft. Only £25 plus £17 for postage compared to a new original Eq8 r pro counterweight.
  16. Small world, I'm in Devon and was away from here for 30 year's after going to university as a mature student, lol. The zwo ASI 224mc is a good planetary camera but you'll need something else for DSO's. Or go for the DSO one which can do both. Image taken with the zwo ASI 224mc and C11. "You'll be back, lol."
  17. Welcome to the forum, if only we could buy clear skies, lol. Have fun, don't get frustrated, enjoy the heavens and ask away.
  18. Yeah, good used one is the way to go. I managed to get a pulsar 2.7m dome with full height walls for £1800 three years ago. Not looked back despite having to repair it last year when thieves tried to get in after a house move and I left it at the previous address until I could collect it. Still long story but shows you they are tough nuts to crack, lol. I think there was a pulsar 2m on Facebook atro buy and sell site the net for sale in the UK.
