  1. Ah, if it was a choice, then apologies - if you like it then that's all that matters 😊 I know what you mean, I often check an image on another device (or 2) just to be sure. If you're not using it already, I find the simple "Readout mode" tool in PixInsight useful - gives you a zoomed view of a certain area and RGB readouts (and other readout types) so you can see particular values. I can provide a few screenshots if that would help.
  2. Nice one @tomato a really interesting looking spiral galaxy (and plenty of others in the background). Hard won data on a moon filled night! 💪
  3. Agree with the observations so far. It is quite saturated and at full size (only) you can see that more within the noise, but it looks good. I'm a fan of a bit of colour especially the variations and transitions that a narrowband image can offer. While I wouldn't have pushed my own this far on saturation, it doesn't stop me enjoying yours! Perhaps you've done what I always want to do with the colour... 🤣 I'm not sure about the purple though. If I hadn't got rid of that quite early I would take a step back and wonder where it's coming from - perhaps some left over gradient in one channel, or some general background issue. Perhaps some masks could be used to balance this part of the background out if you can't step back. Great job.
  4. Both are excellent Robin. I really like the wider version with the dust. You mention a bit washed out but only in comparison to the tighter crop, the compromise is a super back drop for the main object.
  5. Looks great on the forum size, but a little over worked on the full size version. This didn't stop me enjoying the view on the modest size for a good few minutes - great work. It always depends what we're going for, it would have been difficult to create the impact this absolutely has as-is if you were processing for full size inspection 🧐. I'd still find it hard to change anything after I'd produced this version!
  6. These are fantastic Bryan, but it's the colour and depth that really stands out for me - I'm guessing the colour is helping feed that depth. That subtle red/pink within the central area helps loads. I was always aiming for something like this when I shot it in 2022 but never managed. Was your 10h balanced across all three filters?
  7. That looks great Oskari (all the revisions shown too). I was bemoaning the altitude of this area the other day but you've definitely got an even greater challenge a few degrees higher. The binning/resampling has worked a treat to generate a dusty, Ha filled image that's still full of detail.
  8. Both superb Dave. The first with the dust gives that image (especially around Sh2-261) a real sense of extra depth, the second has some lovely details and colour throughout.
  9. Nice one David, the dust and Ha look awesome and a hell of a FOV already.

Both excellent @Rodd Really enjoyable Ha detail. I prefer the first version.
  11. Good result Adrian. Extra challenge at that altitude! A great candidate to image if you're looking for something fresh - it's now on the ever growing list!
  12. Great perseverance Chris and its paid off on this tricky object. Super framing and detail too.
  13. Excellent result @Clarkey Some really nice detail at full size with good colour. A lot of background galaxies to enjoy throughout as well. There's an interesting blue/green object in the lower right too... Not sure if the the PI ImageSolver + AnnotateImage scripts might throw up some interesting stuff on the PGC list (and others).
  14. Both great versions. I prefer the first overall, but the second still has its own (many) positives. Great stuff Alan.
  15. Superb result @Rodd It's the detail and subtle colour variation that's worth viewing full size. In isolation, I didn't think so. When comparing side by side, full size with the first one - perhaps. Certainly not in an OTT, detrimental way though 👍
  16. That must still be a hard one to watch/think about, even months later! Great result from the challenging elevation - strong colour and good detail coming through.
  17. Dark, dusty, moody and with the OIII coming out nicely to complement the golds and browns. Great stuff Adrian.
  18. That looks great @tomato You can just see where the Ha is coming through (where some of the dedicated data you mention above would enhance). Very nice transitions between the brighter and fainter areas.
  19. Lovely FOV @wimvb. You've done well with NGC 1023A, a nice little faint cloud with the contrasting stronger blue you mention. The Ha is subtle but worthwhile addition - very nice.
  20. Fantastic result David. Lovely dust detail and colour.
  21. @ollypenrice There should be a "Select AI" button on the BlurXTerminator GUI. When clicked, I see an AI2 and AI4 file - you can then double click on the AI2 file (BlurXTerminator.2.pb) to go back to that AI package. Frustrating as Russ discusses this exact problem (using AI2) on the BlurXTerminator article for AI4 with demos of the old and new behaviour. It might be worth sending him a few examples you're seeing with AI4.
  22. Excellent image @ONIKKINEN Great details and Ha structure. I think you can be very happy with the current version as is, but see how you feel about more another time? It looks like it would take a lot more to elevate it by a significant margin?
  23. Excellent Adrian. The extent of the nebulosity is clearly shown including the SNR to the lower left of the Heart (here) being subtly different in colour. A great FOV showing the amount of interesting nebulosity there is capture in and around these two.
  24. Fantastic image and first light David. Was this just a single pane / FOV of the planned mosaic? So much to enjoy already!
  25. Fantastic images Adam. Lovely colour balance and great depth. Thanks for sharing the additional crops/Ha too.
