  12. Surely this is your managers view I hope you rescued the scopes and why not offer a loan session to the young students for themselves to make up their mind who are interested in science... At the end of the day who is going to replace the current Scientists you have to learn the basic's.... Wish we had them at our school/college
  13. Both my Son's are interested In my hobby and when I have the scopes out and they happen to visit they have a look through the eyepiece and so does their partners and yes they are impressed with the views, but at an early stage in their lives mid and late 20's. Having said that when I was in the UK my eldest was with me every week at our local astro club until we moved abroad back 2005 so he would have been 15. The problem today is if you want any information you go onto the internet, Yet back then information was limited and you relied on literature.. I did have a Meade ETX 70 with tripod and travel sack basic scope which my son pilfered last year can I borrow it never to be seen again albeit it was covered in dust . So maybe a change he wants a bit of me time. I have no qualms with that. I think that a hobby like this is either with your parents or later on in life when you have disposable income. Andy
  14. Wim, Do you have a wiring diagram for the parts which ports on the esp to wire to greatly appreciated Andy
  15. yep std bar albeit I added a couple of new mount holes
  16. what guide scope do you intend using I have what you state a second bar attached above my 150pds scope rings then my 9x50 finderscope attached to that with 3 point rings. the photo was with a st80 scope but went smaller with the finderscope 9x50 does the job well.
  17. IBM XT then the first home computer with twin 5 1/4 diskette drives 1500 quid I can remember the noise they made when seeking
  18. you forgot the minor adjustment tool. And a wire wrap tool as on tracked circuit boards, wired in those days to pins when doing upgrades/updates you could wash the circuit boards in those days to get rid off the dust and tobacco stains there where a lot even in a computer rooms
  19. http://www.dvq.com/ads/IBMSeries1.pdf first computer I worked on as maintenance engineer slighty off topic
  20. Dave Can go back further to 8" Floppies that went into a cartridge that held 10 at 80kb each by IBM then 1.2MB each max at the end. you had single sided and double sided blast from the past
  21. James was it these you where referring to don't know if they fit EQ6
  22. The 25mm will give you a lower magnification so hang on till you get that and compare it with the quality of magnification with the supplied 10mm you say you bought a barlow of amazon yes the celestron one 2x so the 25mm will go down to 12.5 and your 10mm will go down to 5mm see how you go on for now before spending any more money.
