  1. Some surface details from today. Cheers!
  2. This is 100 stack from AVI today. So stupid today, I use WL filter to solar system align AVX on sun. Then remove eye piece / WL filter - insert quark. Was rushing along forgot to secure WL filter to end of refractor. Left eye to eye piece focused on sun @ 1000mm - hand on controller centering sun. All sudden the sun turns into brightest blast of light ever seen and hear a thud on deck. Jump back realizing what happened checking my vision. Yep wind blew WL filter right off refractor. Eye still intact, no spots, no vision issue at all. Had placed IR cut filter in front of diagonal few minutes earlier, must of been enough to shield me for split second. IR filter and diagonal are permanently staying in 102. Light blast was brilliantly bright, do not recommend...
  3. Sneaking this one in last minute. Large proms from today, quark chormo, Omni 102mm frac, ir cut filter. AVI Captured in firecapture, 30 frames from AVI into LR for adjustments then PS for gif. Cheers!
  4. Kinda looked like shark on sun today. First time using second etalon on pst, don't know how 3 dials work together but view and details are much better than one etalon. Had 30 minutes of sun, was quick grab and go. ASI 174mm, ten 30 sec vids for a frankenmosaic.
  5. At full res I count over 20 galaxies to my eyes, just gorgeous image.
  6. Super lunar capture, so much detail all over, brilliant!
  7. Very nice images, like the proms up close especially the looping prom on top.
  8. Single frame M27. ED-80 f6, mod DSLR, 30 sec, iso 12800. Stretched in nebulocity, final touch / crop ps.
  9. Was sunny light cloud for couple hours this morning. Mostly observed but tried few captures. Clear skies ☀️
  10. + 3 for Baader nice accessories and filters with it. The twist lock that came with screws into back of my sct makes for solid camera platform quick swaps.
  11. Haven't seen prom with eyes in awhile. Didn't see anything until remembered where sweet spot was played with tuner. Prom at 10 o'clock position with smaller one at 9. Viewed pst, 2.5 pm, 40mm plossl. My view via paint. Not sure paint qualifies in sketching section if not can bump this elsewhere . Was nice to see some activity.
  12. Been wanting mini eq for solar, night & travel for awhile. Came with little bat powered ra clock drive. Much beefier than EQ1 like night and day. Falls between EQ1 and CG4. Tested 102mm frac, no issue but mostly for pst/ed80.
  13. Have you tried stellarium scope with avx? Align on Jupiter with hand controller, then plug hand controller into laptop start stellarium scope. Start building model, sync on moon bright stars etc.
  14. Terrific first capture, better than my first also. Seeing conditions big factor can make focusing difficult. Capture as many as you can with different roi, exp, gain, barlow, no barlow. Process all.
  15. Thanks, 1200 fl refractor on Jupiter, 2800 fl sct on Saturn.
  16. Saturn 6/14 Jupiter via 6/10. Red channel 6 vids Jupiter, 4 vids Saturn into as3/winjupos/gif in ps. Saturn missing few moons I think... Hope to get a transit one day.
  17. Terrific captures, really like image of Posidonius with Mare Serenitatis, Atlas, Hercules.
  18. Good stuff, I tested again with stacks of 600. Error was applying similar sharpening to different stacks. Only difference is using 2 to 3 times wavelets on 12 bit stack to get similar detail of 8 bit stack. That's probably differences in seeing/wind of captures? I did another test using pipp to sort image quality before as3 vs just using as3 to sort image quality. There was no difference in final images at least with this Jupiter avi.
  19. Nice transit catch and image!
  20. Some pre sunset lunar imaging Thurs. Backed up to trees for better angle.
  21. asi178mm - c11 - 3096x2080 capture file size 18 GB for 1500 frame ser. Can eat up space fast with this camera. Had to off load lunar captures before Jupiter & Saturn session. Clear skies !
