  1. Dear me you must have the patience of a saint sir!
  2. From an outstanding Jupiter session last night to re skimming a wall tonight... Oh the highs and lows!

  3. Ouch... just banged my jaw on the floor. Could that be "the perfect" 100m scope?! Lovely stuff..
  4. Looks like a morning for solar... and hopefully an afternoon of cracking solar photo's from our imaging collective!  Hope it's clear for you!

  5. Sooooooon im getting some itchy observing feet... or should that be eyes. I have to say I was generally surprised at the quality of view of the ikle 72mm ED against the 100mm starwave on the moon, there was not an awful lot in the detail (to my inexperienced eyes) at reasonable (early 100's) magnification.. I guess light grasp is one thing but how a lens treats its captured photons afterwards is a completely different ball game "all together" Still though a glorious big archetypal frac just screams telescope at you and I think that's what gives the like of the TALs some of there desirability, following and charm!
  6. seconded... seemed a bit coincidental didn't it..
  7. Shhhhhhhhhhhhh, they'll be a lynching by folk brandishing TALs instead of pitchforks if you say that out loud! (even if your right! ) I've been told that optically the starwave and TAL are very very evenly matched.. would like to have an evening with one, someday...
  8. I thought this had been on the cards for a while now.. It's a real shame, I know a lot of people who I have upmost respect for on the forum rave about them, Mr Nightfisher for one spent a considerable amount of time in Ingleton last summer talking with great passion and enthusiasm about his.. There are a few other options in the 100mm achro department.. the starwave 100 F11 is a gem (I have one and love it) more frequently skywatcher and bresser do a 100mm F9.8 I believe.. Still though you can pick up an ED100 for circa £350 - £400 SH which is good value.. or you could pick up a 100mm F10 vixen skylight in candy apple red for a similar amount if my last browsing memory serves me well.. Would love to get a TAL and pack it away in the loft for 20 years, wonder what it would be worth then, they are loved now, maybe they would be revered in the future. (shame about being in the loft for 20 years but heyho, for the story it's a necessity!) Ta Fozzie
  9. SCOPE!!! I'm seriously considering one of these in replacement of a 200p... I've two other altair frac and I'm impressed with everything about them for there price point..
  10. This FLO sale is killing me in more ways than one... my EP collection (price) is about as stable as the Chinese stock market, and the only solution I can think of is quantitative easing... maybe time to use my alternate delivery address..

  11. The tripod is a thing of beauty also.... just all lovely stuff....
  12. Crumbs Nick, bet that was a heart in mouth moment for you... Still tidier than my man draw at home though!
  13. That is superb Roy... you must be made up with it.. Another fine example of skylight's craftsmanship and dedication... Lovely, lovely, lovely Ta Fozzie
  14. Here's my humble white light offering 72mm ed and lunt wedge..
  15. Just been doing a spot of gardening... pesky branch in the way! fairly sure my neighbour was in hysterics over the entire thing as he toasted me with his glass of fizz.. Merry Christmas sgl x

  16. No thank you, bet there's not many 150mm dedicated solar scopes around.. I didn't know that about the lunts being so variable, is the same to be said for the 50/60mm? Got a 50mm on the shopping list for next year.. Look forward to the pair of taks too.. Ta Fozzie
  17. Quite simply a wonderful set of fracs sir, I've not felt that giddy looking at a collection since the "odd Thomas skylight collection" earlier in the thread... My oh my!
  18. That's a fantastic sunspot this morning, if you can you should have a look!

  19. with the persistent dark cloudy days and night I think ive become adverse to the sunlight... which is currently actually hurting my eyes through the office window... sometimes you just can't win..

  20. Seems like ages since if had the scope out... Not even managed a go with the binoviewrs.. Soon though, soon.

  21. so at 2 am this morning a group of morons in a car drove through my front garden, totalling the good lady's car and pushing mine of the drive and into the garden, before driving off again.. its either speed or alcohol, but probably both... unbelievable and it was cloudy too, complete toilet of an evening!

So the next course of action, 8" X 8" Oak posts every 4' across the garden, 5' in to the ground and to make them look nice 3" rope hung through them

  22. Snap.. couple with a nice wide field EP and your on for a winner.. Great collection, I was toying with the idea of using a metal base on the star pointer pro as opposed to the plastic one, I notice your "lowest" finder in the picture has one similar to the one I was thinking off, are they interchangeable and if so, do you think it adds anything to the stability..? I'd agree with that.. Ta Fozzie
  23. Nice additions to the family chris, paul & jules. Fozzie
