  2. Just opened the box on the new celestron star pointer pro... curiosity got the better of me, so I'll post a review shortly! looks an interesting piece of kit.. cheapish and light weight hence the interest.

  3. That's the second 150mm f8 I've seen go through a make over and look stunning (believe Mr spock has done one also).. makes me want to have a go myself with a lovely old piece of neglected frac.. Ahem Mr lock... Did I miss the picture of your 127? Ta Fozzie
  4. My latest edition, a fantastic ikle 72mm ED, giving some belting WL views as we speak..

Yes, i have an astromaster AZ mount that is just begging for a little frac to use on it, i like the look of the carbon 70mm on abs but its a bit steep

I figured that's the one you were looking at... I'm tempted by the magrez with flattener on abs but again.. bit much... couple of ikle 66mm on flee bay at the moment too

I've now got the 6, 9, 12, 15, 20 & 25mm mainly for the frac but they'll be great in the 200p too.. and I'm also looking at a 72mm ed for travel..

      Lots of clouds coming!

Not yet DRT... I'm hoping at some point to buy yours second hand..

Absolutely Jules... as long as that torch of mine hasn't blinded everyone and everything first!

  11. Just got my Pocket Sky Atlas... Looks great!

      Fozzie,

It looks a good one I have it on the computer though it is never the same, I have just ordered the Cambridge

  12. Post operative insomnia! But it looks like I'll catch a hulluva sun rise, which is nice as I also caught it setting too..

  13. Bit too shiny for me... I'd take a black or maybe white skylight any day... If I ever won the lottery!
  14. What are you doing to me now.... I specifically said I couldn't handle my starwave being the, and I quote "the cute scope", after the first round of glorious starlight pictures you posted, and now you only go and sandwich it between some more even outrageously glorious starlight pictures! and you said we were all friends!!!! obviously I'm joking above, but seriously though, that is a lovely piece of loveliness!
  15. Going to deepest darkest Ullswater in the lakes this weekend and suprise suprise after the clear nights recently it's going to be rubbish... will throw the 80mm in the boot though to be on the safe side!

  16. Thanks Gordon, I've actually just bought another to put my finders & diagonals in... no doubt there will be some space left in that too
  17. Not posted mine for a while, some succinct changes in here.. and room for the 24mm ExSci 82 later in the year, maybe upgrade to 2" Filters too. 8mm - 32mm TV plossl, 6mm & 9mm SLV, 4.7mm, 11mm, 14mm, 18mm and 2x FE ExSci 82 Revelation 15, 20, 32mm & 2.5 Barlow which I use when my friends and family's kids are around, incase of sticky little finger marks..
  18. No problem Chris, It might be a while yet, I started the review at Christmas and I've only just finished writing up my thoughts with the F11, which is hardly a stern test on EP's.. Going to start with the 200p shortly...
  19. Many thanks Chris, I'm really happy with it at the moment, nice wooden tripod though, well it'd be nice wouldn't it! I do like the focuser, it's nice and smooth, it's also rotatable which I'm yet to decide if it's good or bad thing. It's either locked or not and when it's not it can catch you out by spinning to the lowest centre of gravity especially with the 50mm Finder on it! As for CA, it's well controlled, not in the ed doublet league as you'd expect but I can push my 6mm slv on the moon and not really have it bother me.. Noticed a bit around vega the other night but then I was looking for it as I'm writing a comparison between the 9mm slv and excell (was looking at controlling light scatter).. It's a nice scope, personally I love it but then I've never looked through anything better... Ta Fozzie
  20. I've got him an Evo 90 (which my brother is currently loaning) already... second hand £80.. bargin and a great little scope!
  21. Here by popular demand is my frac set up..! Altair starwave 102mm F11 on skytee2 with my ikle 80mm as finder (works better with the 200p but we don't speak of such things here!) Edit... rubbish quality photo's... must check phone settings..
  22. Oh you guys!!! Here's a picture of me and my baby frac in WL mode looking after little OJ as a taster before I get a decent picture of the starwave
  23. There's no way i'm following up those skylights with my starwave, it's just not fair on the poor thing! If somebody can post some national geographic 40mm/F10 educational scopes first then i'll probably consider it, but there's no way my lovely starwave is going to be the "oh bless look at the cute scope next to those skylights"
  24. Not sure you can still call it a shed with this observatory standard piece in it! I was going to post my starwave, but in all honesty we might as just well lock this thread and put it to bed now....
  25. I think a few of us were looking at this scope, glad it's gone to a great home... Looks to be in good shape optically too.. Looking forward to further updates..
